This original artwork by French artist Vincent Streiff (VincePopArt) pays tribute to Popeye the Sailor and Olive Oyl, characters created by Elzie Crisler Segar in the late 1920s who have become timeless icons of American popular culture. The artist reinterprets them in a bold, graphic pop art language: flat, saturated colours (vivid blues, yellows, greens and pinks), strong black outlines and a dynamic composition, directly echoing the comic strips and advertising posters of the 1930s to 1960s.

The uniqueness of this piece lies in its background entirely composed of excerpts from original Popeye comics: genuine vintage comic book pages and panels are glued and integrated into the composition, creating a textured, narrative backdrop against which the two acrylic-painted characters stand out. This mixed technique, combining painting and collage, grounds the artwork in an approach that is both plastic and documentary, characteristic of Vincent Streiff's work.
